A Canon EF 70-200mm f/4.0L Lens mounted over a 2x becomes a 140-400mm f/8 lens. A Canon EF 300mm f/2.8L IS Lens becomes a 600mm f/5.6 IS lens. And, as shown in my Canon EF 2x III Extender review examples above, the Canon EF 180mm f/3.5L USM Macro Lens becomes a 360mm f/7.1 USM Macro Lens.
The Sigma 70-200mm f/2.8 works great on a Canon 5D Mark IV using the Canon 2x Mark iii Extender. The Sigma 70-200mm f/2.8 works great on a Canon 5D Mark IV using the Canon 2x Mark iii Extender
Yes. 27 Dec 2023. #1. Got a 2X Extender from Santa. It was a nice day yesterday so I popped out to a local pond to try it out with the 70-200 zoom. having read reviews and watched vids and sorting advice on here I was still unsure what to expect. when strapped to my 90D. Yes it slows the AF a little and you loose 2 stops but the results seem
Buy the Canon EF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS II USM Lens. Ditch the thought of the 2x tel-con. If you must get one buy the 1.4x. If you think you want 400mm look at the Canon EF 400mm f/5.6L USM Lens. It is a must have lens. Personally I don't like to tag a lens with a certain moniker. There isn't a 'landscape' lens per say.
The 70-200 f/2.8L IS II is compatible with the Canon Extender EF 1.4x III and Canon Extender EF 2x III as shown above. I generally recommend buying a lens with the focal lengths you need natively in them - they usually provide better image quality and focus speed.
A 2x is going to significantly degrade image quality, but the kicker is the 100-400 ii at 200mm is sharper than the 70-200 f2.8 ii at 200mm and at 400mm is about the same center sharpness (or better) as the f2.8 ii at 200mm See photozone.de. Clearly the 70-200, f2.8 ii with a 2x extender is not going to be anywhere near as sharp as the 100-400 ii.
