There are engine brake and engine brake toggle functions. First one you have to hold the button for the truck to start engine braking and as long as you hold it will brake. Second one starts braking when you press the button and will not stop until you press that button again. I own a Logitech G29 and H-shifter, but the truck I drive has 8
I'd maybe recommend taking a look at some existing car mods file structure just to get a better idea of how the games files work. (Please do not steal any other modders work, but it's completely fine for you to take a look and learn from their mods on how the game files are structured). The only "get out and walk" you can do in ETS2/ATS is walking around inside of the truck configurator. You can not walk anywhere else. This feature was added in 2020.
